TCU’s Julien Brun was selected NCAA Division I Ping First-Team All-America by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Brun was one of only 10 golfers nationally to earn the first-team distinction and has claimed the honor in all three seasons at TCU.
Brun, a junior from Antibes, France, is the only TCU golfer to earn three First-Team All-America selections and is one of only 26 players in Division I history to earn the honor three times. Only Wake Forest’s Gary Hallberg (1977-80), Arizona State’s Phil Mickelson (’89-’92) and Georgia Tech’s David Duval (’90-’93) and Bryce Molder (’98-’01) are four-time winners.
Brun won the Big 12 Championship and the NCAA San Antonio Regional in back-to-back events this month.
Alabama won its second straight NCAA golf title, beating Oklahoma State 4-1 in the final at Prairie Dunes in Hutchinson, Kan. Trey Mullinax won the deciding match, holing an eagle putt from the fringe on the par-5 17th hole to beat Ian Davis 2 and 1.
