TCU pitchers Preston Morrison and Tyler Alexander were named the Big 12 pitcher and newcomer of the week, respectively, after winning games against Kansas State over the weekend.
Morrison threw his second consecutive complete-game shutout in the Horned Frogs’ Friday win. Morrison hasn’t allowed a run in his last 26 2/3 innings.
Alexander, a freshman left-hander, held K-State to one run in seven innings Saturday.
No. 19 TCU (34-13, 13-5 Big 12) is tied atop the Big 12 with Oklahoma State. The Frogs host Oklahoma (26-23, 6-12) in a three-game series beginning Friday at Lupton Stadium.

Finnegan feels good
TCU left-hander Brandon Finnegan felt great after throwing a simulated game Monday and is expected to start Friday night against Oklahoma.
Finnegan left his last start on April 25 early after experiencing soreness in his left throwing shoulder. He did not pitch over the weekend as a precautionary measure.
TCU continued to move up in all the national polls Monday.
The Frogs moved up two spots to No. 19 in USA Today’s coaches’ Top 25. They moved up five spots to No. 12 in Baseball America’s Top 25 and moved up three spots to No. 10 in Collegiate Baseball’s Top 30.
None of the polls affects postseason seeding.
TCU has won 12 in a row and 19 of its last 20 games. The Frogs rank 10th in the rating percentage index, which does help seed teams in the postseason.
