The TCU Horned Frogs had their seven-game winning streak snapped Saturday after splitting a doubleheader with the Kansas Jayhawks at Hoglund Ballpark
The Frogs (22-13, 7-5 Big 12) won their seventh straight game with a 3-1 victory to open the day, but lost 5-1 in the second game.
In Game 1, Preston Morrison (4-3) turned in his second straight strong start, allowing just one run on four hits in 8 1/3 innings. The junior struck out seven and did not walk a batter.
Sophomore outfielder Boomer White was 2 for 4 with an RBI to lead the TCU offense.
In Game 2, the Horned Frogs were held to just five hits. Alex Young (1-3) allowed four runs on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings. He struck out three and walked one.
Jayhawks junior right fielder Connor McKay had two solo home runs in Game 2 to lead Kansas (22-15, 6-6). McKay also clubbed a solo shot in Game 1.
TCU returns home to host Houston Baptist at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lupton Stadium.
