Cron’s two homers help TCU rally past Kansas

Kevin Cron hit two home runs, helping TCU stage a 5-2 come-from-behind victory over Kansas in a Big 12 series opener Friday night.
Trailing 2-0 going into the fourth inning, TCU tied the game when Boomer White singled and Cron followed with a home run.
Cron and White had two hits each. Cron had three RBIs and White added two.
White and Cron opened the sixth inning with back-to-back home runs, giving the Horned Frogs (21-12, 6-4 Big 12) a 4-2 lead.
TCU scored its final run in the ninth inning when Kyle Bacak singled, Keaton Jones walked, Derek Odell singled and Bacak scored on a sacrifice fly by White.
Brandon Finnegan upped his record to 6-2 despite giving up eight hits and five runs in two innings.
Trey Teakell and Riley Ferrell combined to stop the Jayhawks (21-14, 5-5) on one hit and no runs in four innings.
Ferrell notched his fifth save.
