Finnegan pitches TCU by Oklahoma State

TCU scored three runs in the first inning and Brandon Finnegan won his fifth game of the season in the Horned Frogs’ 3-1 victory over Oklahoma State in the first game of a Big 12 series on Friday night.
Finnegan upped his record to 5-2 by pitching seven innings. He gave up five hits, one run, walked three and struck out eight.
Riley Ferrell notched his third save by pitching two innings, giving up one hit and striking out four. He walked one.
The Frogs (15-10, 2-2 Big 12) took advantage of Cowboys (17-9, 1-3) starting pitcher Jon Perrin’s wildness and an error to take a 3-0 lead in the first inning.
Dylan Fitzgerald opened the game with a single. Kevin Cron was hit by a pitch and both runners moved up on a wild pitch.
Boomer White knocked in a run with a single to center field. Derek Odell brought in another run with a ground ball and TCU scored its third run on an error.
Keaton Jones had two hits for TCU.
