UT Arlington women succumb to rally, lose finale in OT

The UT Arlington women led for much of their season finale at South Alabama on Saturday night, but the the Jaguars overcame a 13-point deficit and won 60-57 in overtime at the Mitchell Center.
Down by four in the final minute, the Jaguars scored with 26.3 seconds remaining and tied the game after getting the ball back when UTA (4-25, 3-15 Sun Belt) received a five-second violation on an inbounds pass.
UTA senior Desherra Nwanguma (15 points) scored the first three points in overtime before fouling out with 1:19 remaining. South Alabama (8-20, 6-12) took a 58-57 lead with 1:01 left on a pair of foul shots.
On their final possession, the Mavericks couldn’t get off a potential game-tying 3-pointer.
