Kyan Anderson and Karviar Shepherd lead the Horned Frogs into Morgantown, W.Va., on Saturday in an attempt to claim their first victory over West Virginia and TCU’s first conference victory of the season.
Anderson, a junior guard, has taken the reins on offense for TCU, averaging 21.4 points over the past eight games and shooting 50 percent from 3-point range.
Shepherd, a freshman center, is coming off his second consecutive double-double — the fourth of his career — with 11 points and 10 rebounds in the Frogs’ loss to Oklahoma State.
The Mountaineers’ Juwan Staten is tied for the Big 12 lead in scoring at 19.6 points per game.
The Frogs lost 71-50 last season in Morgantown. TCU and West Virginia met in January in Fort Worth, with the Mountaineers winning 74-69.
TCU is without forward Amric Fields, who scored 22 points in the first meeting. Freshman forward Brandon Parrish had 18.
West Virginia leads the series 3-0.
