TCU swimming sets five school records

TCU set five school records on the third day of the Big 12 Conference Swimming and Diving Championships in Austin.

The Horned Frogs women moved from fifth to fourth in the team standings.

Anthony McMurry broke Ron Forrest’s 20-year old record in the 200 free with a time of 1:38.12 to make it to the finals, where he finished sixth with a 1:38.67.

In the men’s and women’s 100 back, Cooper Robinson and Lyndsie Gibson set schools records with a 46.94 and 54.80 to finish third and fourth, respectively.

Gabi Korac swam a 1:02.38 in the 100 breast and placed ninth in setting a school record. In the men’s 200 free relay, McMurry, Corey Nix, Garrett Hills and Ryan Wilcox set a school record with a time of 1:20.30 and placed third in the event.

TCU’s men dropped from second to third.

UTA softball

UT Arlington lost two games at the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz.

The Mavericks (10-8) fell to Longwood, 4-3 and Indiana, 8-5.

UTA will play Arizona and Iowa today.
