The UT Arlington women’s basketball team has another chance to steal a conference win Saturday at Arkansas-Little Rock.
The Mavericks (3-21, 2-11 Sun Belt Conference) battled in a 64-57 loss to the Trojans (13-10, 8-5) at College Park Center on Jan. 4 behind 14 points from center Desherra Nwanguma.
The senior comes into Saturday’s matchup as the Sun Belt Conference leader in rebounds per game (9.8) during league play and has led the UTA offense with a 21.5 scoring average in the last 10 games.
UALR comes into the game riding a three-game winning streak and is led by guard Taylor Gault, who has range and averages 15 points per contest.
The Mavericks won two straight against Georgia State and Louisiana-Lafayette before dropping their last three Sun Belt games.
The Trojans lead the all-time series 9-5 and sit in a tie for third in the Sun Belt.
