TCU women return to action hosting No. 5 Baylor

TCU women’s hoops Fifth-ranked Baylor has won 15 straight over TCU.

TCU encountered several emotional highs in its 64-44 win over Kansas State that saw coach Jeff Mittie notch his 300th win at TCU and junior guard Natalie Ventress join the 1,000-point club for the women’s program.

Saturday, the Horned Frogs will surely have to snap back to reality as they host No. 5 Baylor at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum for an 11 a.m. contest.

Baylor is the Big 12’s best offense to date, leading the league with 86.5 points per game, a plus-24.9 scoring margin, 19.5 assists and 17.8 rebounds per game.

Former Irving MacArthur standout and player of the year candidate Odyssey Sims leads the nation in scoring, averaging 30.1 points per game. She leads the Big 12 in 3-point percentage at .447 and 3-pointers per game with 3.1.

TCU senior center Latricia Lovings can continue her school-record streak of games with a blocked shot, currently sitting at 65 games.

Baylor took the last meeting between the teams on Jan. 11, winning 80-46 in Waco. Lovings put up sixes across the board: six points, six boards and six blocked shots.

Saturday will be the 31st meeting of the series, with Baylor leading 25-5.. The Lady Bears are on a 15-game winning streak against TCU that dates to 1990.
