TCU has another chance Sunday against West Virginia to pick up head coach Jeff Mittie’s 300th career win after Kansas thwarted a first attempt Wednesday in Lawrence, Kan.

TCU junior guard Natalie Ventress scored 10 points at Kansas, leaving her eight points shy of becoming the program’s 13th player to reach 1,000 points.

West Virginia (21-3, 10-2 Big 12) entersSunday’s game on a four-game winning streak after a 14-point comeback to beat Oklahoma 76-75 on Thursday.

The Mountaineers rank third in the conference in scoring at 76 points per game and fourth in field-goal percentage (.436).

Senior center Asya Bussie was a force down low when the Horned Frogs (14-9, 5-6) dropped their first meeting with West Virginia 66-62 at Daniel Meyer Coliseum. Bussie made 11 of 15 free throws.

Sunday will be the sixth meeting between the programs with WVU holding a 5-0 advantage.
