TCU baseball No. 19 in preseason poll, Texas No. 18

TCU baseball is ranked No. 19 in Baseball America’s preseason poll, which was released Monday. Also representing the Big 12 are No. 18 Texas and No. 22 Kansas State. Both TCU and Texas missed out on the 2013 NCAA tournament after finishing 29-28 and 27-24.

Kansas State won the conference after going 45-19, including 16-8 in the league. In Big 12 play, TCU went 12-12 and Texas finished in last place at 7-17. TCU’s season begins Feb. 14 against Jacksonville at Lupton Stadium.

Virginia tops the rankings. Rice is the highest-ranked Texas-based school at No. 15. Texas A&M ranks No. 24.

Last year, TCU was 14th in the preseason poll, the highest-ranked Big 12 team. Oklahoma was the only other team in the preseason poll at No. 19.
