The TCU women’s basketball team crossed off a history-making achievement last Sunday, beating Texas for the first time in the program’s existence, 54-48.
Saturday, TCU can continue along that path of milestones. The Horned Frogs face Oklahoma in Norman, where they are winless in nine attempts.
TCU again will be faced with a defensive challenge. Oklahoma enters the contest second in the Big 12 in scoring offense, averaging 80 points per game, and leading the conference in field-goal percentage, at 45.4 percent.
The Sooners are led on offense by senior guard Aaryn Ellenberg, who has averaged 19.8 points per game this season, good enough for second in the Big 12. Ellenberg also leads the league in 3-pointers per game with 3.2.
Ellenberg is one of four Sooners averaging double-digit points, along with senior center Nicole Griffin (11.1), who ranks third in the Big 12 in field-goal percentage at just over 60 percent, Sharane Campbell (12.6) and Morgan Hook (10.4).
Saturday’s contest will be the 18th meeting between the programs. Oklahoma leads the all-time series 14-3, and has won the last three meetings.
