The UT Arlington men’s basketball team looks to build off a confidence-boosting win when it hosts South Alabama at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the College Park Center.

Reger Dowell made a 3-pointer with 5.7 seconds left in UTA’s 59-56 victory over Troy on Thursday night, helping the Mavericks win back-to-back games. UTA will try for its first three-game win streak of the season against the last-place Jaguars.

UTA’s Brandon Edwards is averaging 16.1 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in the post.

While the Jaguars have only won one Sun Belt game, they defeated 12-7 La.-Lafayette a week ago.

With a win, the Mavericks would be above .500 in Sun Belt play for the first time this season.
