The UT Arlington basketball team plays its final nonconference road game of the season as it looks to upset a quality Oklahoma squad at 7 p.m. Tuesday night at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Okla.
Powered by Brandon Edwards’ 31-point game, the Mavericks finally completed a comeback against Houston Baptist on Saturday. In all but one of their losses, they’ve fallen behind at halftime and stormed back, only to fall short.
UTA hopes to get out to a stronger start against the Sooners, who have gotten off to a tremendous start this season. They’re 9-1 with their only loss coming to No. 5 Michigan State in November. Cameron Clark leads the way with 17.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.
The 6-foot-7 guard poses a matchup problem for the Mavericks’ defense.
UTA counters with Edwards, who’s averaging a double-double (19.7 points, 10.2 rebounds per game) this season.
