How they fared
Players of the game
“I have a lot of respect for Baylor, I have a lot of respect for the kind of team they have. But last year when I beat them, here’s what was said: nothing good about TCU. It was just ‘we don’t play like this.’ Nothing about TCU.” — TCU coach Gary Patterson on disrespect he felt last year after the Frogs beat the Bears 49-21 in Waco.
“When you play on the road, if the home team gets momentum it gets tough to overcome. Our guys did a great job of fighting all the way through. That’s the thing I was most proud of.” — Baylor coach Art Briles.
“When you see one of your teammates go down like that, especially after what I would consider a pretty dirty play, it definitely lights a fire under you.” — TCU DE Jon Koontz on Ahmad Dixon’s illegal hit on Trevone Boykin.
