Kansas State at Kansas (11 a.m. Saturday , Fox Sports 1): At the beginning of the season, Kansas State suffered an embarrassing home loss to FCS North Dakota State. Then the Wildcats lost their first three Big 12 games and appeared on the way to missing a bowl game. But four straight wins gave Kansas State (6-5, 4-4) a winning record and bowl eligibility. The Wildcats don’t want to bookend their season with two terrible losses, so they need a win against rival Kansas (3-8, 1-7 Big 12). If Kansas, which beat West Virginia at home, can pull off its second conference upset of the season, watch for more downed goal posts.
Iowa State at West Virginia (3 p.m. Saturday, Fox Sports 1): Neither Iowa State (2-9, 1-7) nor West Virginia (4-7, 2-6) is going bowling this year. Iowa State has played a few conference teams closely, losing to Texas by a point and TCU by four, but the Cyclones’ lone Big 12 win came last week against Kansas. West Virginia has had an extra week to try to forget its road loss at Kansas, but the Mountaineers are tough to beat in their home stadium. This game is all about grabbing any momentum for next season and seeing which coaching staff can motivate its players.
