UT Arlington going orange for homecoming

The Mavericks will wear alternate uniforms against Cleveland State.

After winning back-to-back games this week, the UT Arlington men’s basketball team faces one more home test before traveling to play top-ranked Kentucky next week.

The Mavericks host Cleveland State at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the College Park Center with a fresh new offensive attack that’s more potent than they’ve had in a while. They’re scoring 95 points per game as a crew of new faces settles into starting roles.

In Friday’s “Orange Out” game, the Mavericks will sport alternate orange uniforms to celebrate homecoming. Fans are encouraged to wear orange as well.

UTA’s leading scorer is Reger Dowell, a senior transfer from Oklahoma State, who’s scoring 26.3 points per game, good for 17th in the nation. Brandon Edwards is also off to a strong start, averaging 16.3 points and 11 rebounds per game.

Cleveland State suffered its first loss of the season to San Francisco on Wednesday to fall to 2-1. The Vikings are led by Bryn Forbes, who’s scoring 17 points per game.
