The Fort Worth Cats were down 3-0 minutes into Tuesday’s game, ended up giving up double-digit runs on the night and committed three errors.

Sure sounds like a beating. Until you saw the other team.

The Cats outlasted the Brownsville Charros in a 15-10 slugfest at LaGrave Field, made all the more brutal by eight combined errors.

Fort Worth’s big inning came in the seventh, when Brownsville pitchers gave up four bases on balls and hit a batter, and the Charros also committed one of their five errors as the Cats scored six runs, five of which were unearned.

Edwin Gomez led the Cats, going 2 for 3 with a homer, three RBIs two walks and four runs scored. Ryan Lashley also drove in three runs on two hits. Chad Kruse and Cory Morales also tallied two hits apiece.
