Two home runs send Fort Worth Cats past WhiteWings

The Fort Worth Cats hit two home runs and Brandon Cowan and four relief pitchers held Rio Grande Valley to two runs despite eight hits in a 3-2 victory on Thursday night at LaGrave Field.

Oscar Garcia hit a solo home run in the first inning, and Tim Alberts hit a two-run shot in the second for the Cats.

Cowan gave up seven hits and two runs in 6 1/3 innings. Ben Ruff, Ronan Pacheco, Dylan Rucker and Chase Johnson combined to give up one hit in 2 2/3 innings.
