Brownsville rallies for lead, blunts Cats’ threat

The Brownsville Charros rallied for four runs in the top of the sixth inning to beat the Fort Worth Cats 9-5 on Saturday night at LaGrave Field.

The Cats scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 5-4 lead, but the Charros answered in the top half of the sixth with back-to-back two-run hits by Derek Pyles and Goose Kallunki.

Ryan Lashley had two hits, and Michael Pair had two RBIs for the Cats.

Fort Worth committed five errors, which led to two unearned runs.

The Cats loaded the bases in the ninth, but Cory Morales lined out to the second baseman to end the threat.

Fort Worth (28-24) concludes its series with Brownsville (17-33) at 6:05 tonight at LaGrave Field.
