The Texas Wild begins its second World TeamTennis season at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Boston Lobsters.
The Wild, which reached the WTT semifinals last season, features Alex Bogomolov Jr. playing singles and joining doubles specialist Aisam Qureshi for men’s doubles. Wild newcomer Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain is expected to play women’s singles and join Darjia Jurak in women’s doubles. Either Garrigues or Jurak will play with Qureshi in mixed doubles.
Boston is led by American Megan Moulon-Levy and 84th-ranked Canadian Sharon Fichman, while South African Rik De Voest is expected to play singles and join doubles specialist Eric Butorac.
No. 11-ranked John Isner and Coco Vandeweghe are listed as marquee players for Boston, but neither is expected tofor the opener.
The WTT announced that Vicky Duval will miss the season for the Philadelphia Freedoms after she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The Freedoms will support Duval, 18, by wearing a special patch with her initials and favorite color.
