Luis Suarez fangs were a big hit Sunday night for the Fort Worth Vaqueros, bringing 2,399 fans to LaGrave Field.
Unfortunately, the support wasn’t enough to boost the Vaqueros to victory. Dallas City FC took an early 2-0 lead and never trailed, routing Fort Worth 4-1 and taking a big bite out of the Vaqueros’ playoff aspirations.
Fort Worth (1-5-1, 4 points) needs a win tonight at LaGrave Field against the San Antonio Corinthians (4-2-0, 12 points) and some outside help to slip into a spot in the South Central Conference Championship Tournament.
Hilton Ngwa scored the lone goal for the Vaqueros in the 25th minute.
“I thought the boys played extremely well,” Vaqueros coach Mark Snell said. “A couple soft goals got by and hurt us.”
Dallas City added a fourth goal in the 88th minute after the Vaqueros pulled a defender in a push to get back into the match.
