Catcher Sean O’Connell led a productive Fort Worth offense with three hits and three RBIs as the Cats beat Brownsville 5-2 on Friday at LaGrave Field.
Fort Worth grabbed an early lead with three runs in the second and two in the third, hitting three of their four doubles while tallying seven hits over both innings off Charros starter Lars Liguori (0-2).
All but one Fort Worth batter had at least one hit. O’Connell and shortstop Ryan Lashley each went 3 for 4, accounting for half of the Cats’ 12 hits.
Curtis Camilli (4-2) allowed two runs on six hits over 7 1/3 innings to earn the win. Luis Sanz faced the minimum in the ninth for his first save.
