Fresh off their first franchise win, the Fort Worth Vaqueros FC are still in contention for a playoff berth in the South Central Conference of the National Premier Soccer League.
Friday’s 11-2 thrashing of the Bryan/College Station Clash came at a good time for the Vaqueros, who play San Antonio Corintians at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at LaGrave Field.
The victory “gave us a great boost of confidence overall because we’ve obviously been playing every game really close, but we just didn’t get that win,” said Vaqueros forward Dalibor Golubovic, who picked up a hat trick in the win.
The Vaqueros (1-4-1, 4 points) have four games left in the regular season and must finish among the top four teams in the eight-team conference.
San Antonio (4-2-0, 12 points) is coming off a 3-0 loss to Tulsa on Friday.
