Vaqueros set to face familiar foe Dallas City FC

The Fort Worth Vaqueros FC return to National Premier Soccer League conference play Sunday against a familiar foe.

It’s the third meeting in 18 days against Dallas City FC. The Vaqueros lost the Trinity River Cup to Dallas City FC on a 3-0 goal aggregate.

“The team knows that the remaining six games will determine if we make the playoffs,” Vaqueros coach Mark Snell said. “The team has been playing very well despite the results. We just need to finish all the chances we are creating.”

Within the eight-team South Central Conference are two subdivisions.

Fort Worth, Dallas, Bryan/College Station and San Antonio make up the southern sub-division. The Vaqueros’ final six matches feature home and away games among the four Southern teams.

The top two teams from each subdivision advance to a four-team conference championship in Tulsa.

The northern subdivision consists of Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Joplin, Mo., and Liverpool.
