Cats beat San Angelo for third straight win

Cris Martinez went 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs as the Fort Worth Cats beat San Angelo 4-2, Thursday night at LaGrave Field.

Cats starter Brandon Cowan struggled early, giving up two runs on one hit in the first inning. Cowan ended the night giving up two runs on nine hits in 61/3 innings for the no-decision.

Fort Worth (11-12) tied the score 2-2 in the third when Martinez connected on his first home run of the season, a two-run shot that also scored Ryan Lashley.

The Cats added insurance runs in the last two innings, giving reliever Ben Ruff the win and moving their winning streak to three games.
