Fort Worth Cats batter San Angelo with barrage of early runs

The Fort Worth Cats piled up the runs early on their way to a 10-3 rout of the San Angelo Colts on Tuesday night at LaGrave Field.
The Cats scored three in the second and four in the third to build a 7-1 lead, and every Cats batter had at least one of the team’s 16 hits.
Catcher Sean O’Connell went 4 for 5 with two runs scored, and third baseman Ryan Lashley and left fielder Adam Barry each went 2 for 5. Lashley added two RBIs, his first of the season.
Fort Worth chased Colts starter Alex Bates (0-2) after 2 2/3 innings in which Bates gave up seven runs on eight hits, walking three and striking out only one.
Nick Thornton (2-1) went six inning for the Cats, allowing just two earned runs while striking out six and managing to work around five walks.
