Cats take road win at Rio Grande Valley

Oscar Garcia knocked in two runs, one on a fielder’s choice and the other on a sacrifice fly, and the Fort Worth Cats defeated the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings 7-3 on Sunday night at Harlingen Field.
The Cats (6-7) also got RBIs from Louis Saenz, Adam Kam, Chris Martinez and Julian Griffith. A three-run fourth inning saw Derek Hagy score on a wild pitch for a 5-0 lead.
Cats pitcher Brandon Cowan (1-1) went six innings, allowing five hits and three runs, all earned. Rio Grande Valley (6-4) scored two runs in the sixth to pull within 6-3, but Garcia’s fielder’s choice knocked in Kam in the eighth. Kam finished with three hits.
