Fort Worth Cats can’t overcome early hole, lose to Rio Grande

The Fort Worth Cats fell behind early and never recovered, losing to the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings 7-5 on Saturday night at Harlingen Field.
Tyler Krobetzky had three hits and Steve Sulcoski had four RBIs to lead the WhiteWings, who scored three runs in the first inning and added three more in the fifth.
Cats starting pitcher Charlie Hejny (0-3) struggled in his third consecutive loss. He allowed six runs (five earned) in 4 2/3 innings with five walks and four strikeouts. His season ERA ballooned to 8.10.
Sean O’Connell had two hits for Fort Worth, which fell to 5-7 on the season.
