The price to watch the Texas Rangers play in Arlington will go up in 2013 after the club announced higher ticket prices for the upcoming season.
The increases, revealed Tuesday, will allow the Rangers to cover a club payroll that has exceeded $120 million and improvements that have been made to Rangers Ballpark, said chief operating officer Rick George.
Most price hikes for non-premier games were for $4 or less, though Lower Infield seats jumped $7 and Outfield Plaza tickets rose $8. While Outfield Grandstand seats went up only $4, the increase to $11 was a 57 percent increase.
Cash parking also jumped from $12 to $15.

"When we look at increasing any ticket prices, we do it carefully and with a lot of consideration and with a lot of internal discussion," George said.
"The last thing that we want to do is increase ticket prices. However, we are trying to build a long-term sustainable model that allows us to put a great product on the field and a great experience in here for the fans."
The Rangers also introduced dynamic pricing for Upper Reserved seats. Ticket prices for each game will be based on supply and demand, and the Rangers are hopeful that more fans will show up for games that are typically box-office duds.
Tickets will fall below the price point for season ticket holders, and fans are encouraged to buy tickets for premier games early for the lowest price.
George said that more than half of the 30 MLB teams use dynamic pricing.
"We think it's going to allow a lot of pricing options for our fans," he said. "We also think it will help us increase attendance for our lower-demand games."
Fans can beat price increases by purchasing ticket plans, from a full season to 10-game packages. George said that the Rangers are expecting to surpass the nearly 23,000 season tickets from the record 2012 attendance.
That figure includes full and partial ticket plans.
The Rangers eclipsed 3 million fans for the first time in 2012, drawing 3,460,280 over 81 dates. They had 38 sellouts and 59 crowds of at least 40,000 fans, both club marks.
"There are very few teams that year after year hit 3 million fans," George said. "It's certainly our objective to be as close as we were to this past season."
Individual tickets, excluding the April 5 home opener, go on sale at 9 a.m. March 2. Fans can enter a lottery from Feb. 1 to Feb. 20 for the right to buy two tickets for the opener.
The 10-game plans, which go on sale at 9 a.m. Monday, include a free ticket to the opener against Anaheim.
