Tom Ciskowski is staying with the Dallas Cowboys. Or at least, not going to the Indianapolis Colts.
Ciskowski, assistant personnel director for the Cowboys, interviewed for the general manager position with the Colts. But the Colts reportedly have chosen Ryan Grigson from the Philadelphia Eagles for the position. Grigson has spent the past nine seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, the past two as director of player personnel.
Ciskowski has been the Cowboys' top scout since 2008, when the team picked Felix Jones and Mike Jenkins in the first round. He has been with the Cowboys since 1992.
Cowboys add two
Never miss a local story.
The Cowboys signed linebacker Baraka Atkins and safety Justin Taplin-Ross to futures contracts for next season.
Atkins, 6-foot-4, 271 pounds, will be a fifth-year player out of Miami. He was drafted in the fourth round in 2007 by the Seattle Seahawks and played in 21 games for them in his first two years. He had 18 tackles and two sacks in nine games in 2008.
He was in camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers last summer.
Taplin-Ross signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cowboys last summer, but he failed his physical and was released. He started 13 games at Utah in 2010, recording 62 tackles and two interceptions.
