Texas coach Mack Brown said Monday he intends to suggest to the American Football Coaches Association that it look into changing a rule regarding a replay official not being able to overturn a penalty.
"I do think, right now, if it's an awful offensive or defensive pass interference call... and the guys just don't see it, or they're arguing over it, then let the guy upstairs watch it three times," Brown said.
"He doesn't have to stop the game. Right now, with this helmet-to-helmet thing, it's hard to call."
Brown did not point out a particular play in Saturday's loss against Missouri, but was referencing a helmet-to-helmet penalty called on Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro on a critical third down. Missouri scored a touchdown on the next play.
"We're doing it for fumbles. We're doing it for out of bounds," Brown said. "Why don't we do it on any call that's a bad call that changes the game? One play can make a difference."
