TCU Power Index: Frogs' most famous face (and hair) remains Andy Dalton

We're getting down to the nitty gritty in the TCU Power Index. No. 3 on the list Andy Dalton could argue for the top spot but he's too polite to do that. Don't mistake good manners, however, for being soft. They don't make NFL quarterbacks tougher than Dalton and his 109 consecutive starts since taking over the Cincinnati Bengals offense in 2011 is proof of that.

Team violation sends Mendez back to Round Rock and Odor (perhaps) to bench

Rangers left-hander Yohander Mendez was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock for violating team rules, according to general manager Jon Daniels. The violation doesn't involve the police or MLB rules. At least one other player is involved but the club did not say. Rougned Odor was scratched from Tuesday's lineup and manager Jeff Banister declined to say the moves were unrelated.

Son of Dallas Cowboys great charged with murder

The 20-year old son of former Dallas Cowboys offensive tackle Erik Williams is one of two men who have been arrested and charged with two counts of capital murder. Cassius Williams and Rozman Shannon Jr., have been charged in last week’s shooting deaths of two teens in Mesquite.
