From building more sidewalks and a multi-purpose center to eliminating red light cameras and mandatory water schedules, Southlake's latest survey results bring many pressing issues into focus for city leaders.
The online survey had 785 respondents, nearly double the turnout from the 2007 survey. The City Council listened to the survey results at their annual retreat Feb. 8 at the Southlake Hilton Hotel.Read more

Most Southlake residents who have raised objections to the proposed Invitation Park assisted living and nursing college development have cited land-use and location as their primary objections. The site for the project is near the southwest corner of Southlake Boulevard and Carroll Avenue.
But the proposed use of tax-exempt municipal bonds to finance the project is an issue that could affect the city's financial stability for years to come, said Richard Sandow, president of Southlake Capital Advisors, a local securities and investment firm. In 2008, Sandow served as treasurer for the Southlake Citizens For Good Local Government, the PAC that opposed the civil service initiative on the Southlake city ballot.Read more
