About 60 people showed up at the Feb. 16 City Council meeting even though Visions Southwest dropped the assisted living component the week before. Ten people spoke against the project. Read more

The students and families at Johnson Elementary School pitched in last week to assemble thousands of healthy meals for people in earthquake-ravaged Haiti. The school raised the money and packaged each meal with a personal touch.
In one week, JES students and their families raised $3,600. Some children donated their allowance, others sold lemonade and parents also chipped in.Read more
