The Carroll school district won’t contract with a Dallas agency to manage its bus service, officials have decided.
Carroll administrators had explored a proposal from Dallas County Schools, which provides transportation, technology and other services to school districts, to manage Carroll’s bus fleet and employ its drivers. But a district review showed that the proposal is not in Carroll’s financial interest.
Carroll shares a transportation director with the Grapevine-Colleyville school district. A new director is to be named soon, a Carroll spokeswoman said.
H-E-B kicks off celebration
The Hurst-Euless-Bedford school district will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2008-09. The district kicked off the yearlong event at the trustees’ July meeting by honoring the 2008 Trinity High School graduate who won a contest to design the anniversary logo. Warner Powell was one of several students who submitted a design and offered several drafts until officials chose a final version. Powell will attend the University of North Texas in the fall and is considering a major in graphic design, according to an H-E-B news release.
