Jeers: To the Railroad Commissioner who wouldn’t answer a single question as to the cause of the 30 recent earthquakes in Azle. They obviously couldn’t admit that wastewater injection wells were to blame with all those gas and oil executives furiously pointing to the conspicuous bulge in their jackets: their checkbooks.

Cheers: To the staff and nurses at Texas Hospice for the wonderful care for my mother, who was diagnosed with brain cancer. Their caring nurses allowed my mothers final wish to pass away peacefully and comfortably in the loving environment of her own home to come true.

Cheers: To Lectro Tronic Cellular Repair on South McCart Avenue. I was in a time bind to replace the cover on my Samsung Galaxy II, now hard to find. They gave me a used one gratis and wished me a happy new year!

Cheers: To the three young people who came to my aid at the Wal-Mart in Roanoke. I was pushing a loaded grocery cart with one hand and pulling my husbands transport chair with the other. They helped my husband to the car and loaded the chair in the trunk then vanished. Such kindness brightened my day.

Cheers: To the U.S. Postal Service for the post-ice storm timely delivery of an out-of-state package. I was told it probably would take three days when it was mailed late in the afternoon, but it arrived the next day. Other package services offered excuses; USPS delivered.
