hCheers: To the North Richland Hills Green Valley Park visitor who took the time to leave a note on my windshield about a badly damaged tire. I replaced it that same day, thanks to you, and remained safe. Cheers to road hazard warranties on tires, too.

Jeers: To Tony Romo for losing the game on Monday Night Football. He bullied his way back into the game and threw it away. Backup quarterback Brandon Weeden was doing a great job in this struggle and was the best chance to win the game with his momentum.

iJeers: To the critics who put down the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas staff. They did the best job taking care of Thomas Duncan considering it was their first time dealing with the Ebola virus. I’m sure he knew something was wrong.

h Cheers: To Lucille in the pretty red hat who bought our lunch at Flying Fish Oct. 9. It was so nice of you to not only point out the best of the menu but then to pay for our meals as well. You’re a beautiful soul. We will pay your kindness forward.

h Cheers: To the city of Garland, where the council just decided to initiate a trap-neuter-return policy for the city’s feral cats. Continued jeers to the city of Bedford, where the council refuses to accept studies on the effectiveness of TNR for cat population control and is considering making it illegal to feed stray cats.
