Cheers: To Officer Jason Jones of the Roanoke Police Department. Our car would not start last Thursday, and Officer Jones came to our rescue! He was so very nice and helpful — a great asset for the City of Roanoke. Thank you, Officer Jason Jones!
— Mary Davis, Keller
Jeers: To those companies, especially foundation repair companies, who promise transferable lifetime warranties on their repairs, then change names of their companies to avoid the warranty. They will find all kinds of excuses not to honor their warranty.
— Pat Mahanay, Burleson
Jeers: To TXDOT for mowing grassy areas along highways without first picking up trash and recyclables. This just leaves an unsightly mess, and plastic and metal do not biodegrade. This is the entity that created the “Don’t Mess With Texas” campaign. Jeers also to everyone who litters. Is a reminder really necessary?
— Daniel J. Haase, Fort Worth
