hCheers: To the kind lady behind me in the check-out line at Kroger in Haltom City who asked if she could pay for my groceries. I’d had a particularly bad day (a sad anniversary) and somehow having something good happen, totally unexpected and from a stranger, helped toward putting my world back in order.

— Mona Brown, Haltom City

iJeers: To Jerry “Shorty” Jones. Your regrets regarding Tom Landry are too little too late.

— Janice Corthay, Crowley

hCheers: To the Oncor electric crew who worked through Sunday night in wind chills near zero to restore electricity/heat to our house. They worked with positive attitudes and professional precision that made a difficult experience bearable. Thanks, guys, for a job well done.

— Gerald E. Marsh, Fort Worth
