Cheers & Jeers

hCheers: To our Weatherford postman. Our young grandchild wrote us a long letter and addressed the envelope herself. It read only “Grandma and Grandpa.” Somehow it arrived. We’ll treasure it always. We can’t thank him or her enough for extraordinary effort.

iJeers: To the city of Bedford for killing more than 330 cats in 2013, and to the Bedford City Council for voting against consideration of a Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) policy to manage feral cats humanely at its meeting on Feb. 11.

— Connie Ziegler Stout,

Bedford

hCheers: To the staff of the NRH Centre for their Feb. 12 response to a medical emergency in the lobby. While waiting for arrival of EMT, the staff behind the counter, support and management people and the life guards were surrounding the afflicted patron. Their emergency training really showed through.

— Jerry and Avis Sorenson,

North Richland Hills
