Cheers: To the three young people who came to my aid at the Wal-Mart in Roanoke. I was pushing a loaded grocery cart with one hand and pulling my husband’s transport chair with the other. They helped my husband to the car and loaded the chair in the trunk — then vanished. Such kindness brightened my day.
— Virginia Reedy, Argyle
Cheers: To Newark diner. While passing through Newark, (off Highway 287 towards Decatur) I stopped at a small diner that recently put up a new sign advertising Thai cuisine. I was intrigued. Feeling dubious, curious and really hungry, I went in. I ordered Pad Thai with shrimp. Oh my God!
— Susan Wood Brown, Springtown
Cheers: To the ladies at Boo Boo’s Soup & Sandwich Shop in Arlington. For years they have served up the best soups, sandwiches and salad bar, and they did it all with smiles each and every day. They will without a doubt be missed. Thank you,
— Carla Mullen, Arlington
