Cheers: To the Cowtown Marathon for making the correct call to delay the 10K and 5K starts because of lightning and keeping all the runners informed on the delayed start by email. Additional cheers to all the volunteers who stood out in the rain cheering and passing out water.
Bob Finley, Fort Worth
Cheers: To the return of my wallet. Bless this wonderful person who mailed it to me. Wish I could take you to lunch or give you a gift card for the track/insured postage you paid. Good to know there are still such wonderful people in the world.
Jeers: To a Fort Worth company that ignores my dissatisfaction with its medical product. I have been complaining to them at all levels of the management right up to its CEO. I am a 77-year-old retired educator, and I have been suffering.
Jeers: To all those people who try to make their own rendition of the “Star-Spangled Banner.” It should be sung as it is written. In my opinion, it is disrespectful to sing it otherwise.
Cheers: To our Star-Telegram and New York Times carrier, who, very professionally, helped us out on a vacation stop. Well done!
David and Pat Perkins,
Cheers: I am so blessed with good neighbors! Barbara and Zachary Clark have rescued me on two occasions — at 5 a.m. on a Saturday, one when my water heater broke, and one when a sprinkler head broke. Zachary was right there and turned off the water. Thank God for Zachary!
Cheers: To Judy and Noah Newsom of J&N Auto repair and Peter Schroder of Old Neighborhood Grill. You created awesome businesses for the Fort Worth community spanning over 20 years. Enjoy your retirement, and thank you for all your hard work.
Cheers: Words cannot express my thanks to the person or persons who found this old lady's purse in the parking lot of PetSmart. May God bless you. I will be forever grateful.
Cheers: On Feb. 16, we ate our evening meal at Outback Glade Crossing in Euless. The waitress told us our meals had been paid for, and the woman had already left. She had written on our bill "Thank you for your service." My husband was wearing his Korean cap. We hope the thoughtful woman sees this and receives our thanks.
Ken and Jean Ross,
Jeers: To the new car dealers that offer satellite radio with a new car purchase, and when you use the service, you are required to cancel service you already have and get a refund, then within 10 days receive calls from the radio service trying to sell you new service.
Jerry Cranford, Keller
Cheers: My special thanks to the emergency room staff at Texas Health Harris Downtown and Dr. Philip Matthews and his entire staff for the excellent care I received during my recent visits. You all are the best!
Fran Travis, Haltom City
Cheers: My thanks to Dr. Diana Wilson and her staff, the operating room and recovery room staff and the fifth-floor staff at Texas Health Harris Downtown for the excellent care I received during my recent visit. To each of you — you're the best!
Mark Travis, Fort Worth
Cheers: To Weld Works in North Richland Hills. Debbie and her workers cut, removed 3 inches and welded Roland’s walker, allowing it to fit through narrow doors. It works great and gives him more freedom around the house. What a blessing!
Roland and Ann Kelley,
Cheers: To the City of Colleyville Public Works Department. During a recent storm, a tree from our front yard had fallen and was blocking the street. Before we were aware this had happened, the city crew was already cleaning it up and left the pieces neatly piled in our yard. We appreciate the great work they do for our city!
Lee Ann Walker, Colleyville
Jeers: To a federal agency that subjected me to sexual harassment. I also was discriminated against due to my disabilities. I have not received a proper investigation.
