Use of force

While we all follow events in Ferguson, Mo. closely I am forced to wonder what restrictions our own FWPD and county sheriffs department have on use of SWAT tactics and on use of military hardware?
I encourage us all to press for a public statement on limits of reasonable use of force, and remind our civic leaders that curfews and teargassed protests will not be accepted in Texas.
Use of this military surplus, as seen in the Ferguson situation, will have no positive effect if used to suppress protest.
We will not accept a totalitarian police state, and the deptartments should realize that left, right, liberal, conservative, black, white and brown will come together in such an event and flood these streets.
Chief Halstead and Mayor Price should strongly consider giving FW a statement on limitations of use.
