Your tribute to Reby Cary on July 18 is a moving testimonial. He will always stand as a local hero.
But let me remind you of a little history.
Cary parlayed a $3,000 investment in the initial cable TV contract in Fort Worth and its minority ownership requirements into a $300,000 return — and then switched from Democrat to Republican.
At that point he had a little acquired wealth to protect. He had also made his mother proud.
