Headquartered in Fort Worth

The July 6, edition of the Star-Telegram quotes Mike Waldron, managing director of diversity and talent for American Airlines, as stating that “American moved its headquarters from New York to Dallas/Fort Worth in 1979.” (See: “Landing the big fish”)

I suggest that Waldron familiarize himself with American’s website.

The American Airlines history section clearly states that “American moved its headquarters to Fort Worth, Texas, in 1979.”

The Key American Airlines Facilities section of the same website states that “The Headquarters was relocated to Fort Worth from New York City in July and August of 1979.”

And the new American is still a Fort Worth company.

The Corporate Structure section of www.aa.com shows the physical address of American Airlines Group Inc. to be 4333 Amon Carter Boulevard, MD 5675, Fort Worth, TX 76155.

Let’s keep AA’s headquarters in Fort Worth and not move part of it to Dallas!
