Misguided patriotism

The “patriotic colors” that Jorge Medina is wearing at the recent AT&T stadium World Cup event (see photo on Wednesday, July 2, page 12A) are actually an American flag with a hole torn in the middle for his head.

What would make this individual think that blatantly defacing the American flag was the “patriotic” thing to do?

As a retired U.S. Air Force veteran of 23 years with a son in the Army who served three tours in Iraq and one year in Afghanistan, I found it to be shocking, disturbing and disgusting.
