Bud Kennedy’s article musing on the experience of a woman college reporter in a hijab made salient points about American discomfort with Muslims (”A Muslim reporter’s icy welcome from Texas GOP: ‘Where are you from?’, June 13)
I believe her experience was likely colored by her apprehension. She admits to this fear going in, presented herself in religious attire, and Bud takes out of context the comments of a very few, none of which was demeaning in any way
