The city has spent my tax money on putting up banners announcing the upcoming Republican convention June 5-7.
I don’t mind their advertising the convention, but what I do object to is the saying on the banner, “fight to keep Texas red.”
This is definitely a political statement and does not represent the opinions of thousands of Texans who do not believe in that philosophy.
That’s tacit approval of a political party by the city government, which is inappropriate.
